We are new to this field but have a supportive unit locally.
We aim to lease a microscope as an add on to a current project while exploring if we can use it long term.
As such we are trying to limit expense (UK NHS!)
We are looking at a firewire A to D capture device but the only laptops we have access to which have 6 pin fire wire are Macbooks (Dual Core Intel). Canopus ADVC55 Ultra Portable Converter seems to fit the bill unless anyone has a better suggestion.
So my questions are:
Is anyone else capturing to Mac and then transferring the .avi files to PC for analysis?
Which software do you use for capture (is is possible to get iMovie to save the files as .avi?)
